Immanuel – God With Us
Week 3 – John 1: The Light of the World
If you asked 100 people who Jesus is and why he came 2000 years ago, what would they say?
People have, and perpetrate, many different notions of who Jesus is and what it was he did while he was walking on this earth 2000 years ago.
Can we know the truth of who Jesus was, and is, and is to come? The simple answer is yes and we do this not by looking to people who claim new revelation hundred of years later or by intellectuals waiving their credentials at us as they hypothesize who they think Jesus really is thousands of years after. We examine who Jesus is by going to our main source of knowledge of Jesus, the eyewitness testimony of the people who were actually with Him.
These men took this eyewitness testimony and began the process of spreading it to the ends of the earth with no personal gain for themselves in this world, following in the footsteps of Christ being hated, persecuted, and ultimately put to death for proclaiming their eyewitness testimony of Jesus, who is Immanuel – God with us.
So then……
What do the eyewitnesses to Jesus life tell us about who he is?
