This past Wednesday we used Psalm 11 to guide our prayer time together. We broke the text down into 3 parts and prayed up, in, and out for some specific things. Take some time at home to meditate on the scripture and of our God who loves righteousness and hates wickedness. Let Holy Spirit bring our hearts to align with His so the words of our mouth and meditations of our heart are pleasing to our great God and savior!
Below is the text of Psalm 11 and at the bottom is the prayer guide. Take some time to read and pray at home today!
Prayer 1
[1] In the LORD I take refuge;
how can you say to my soul,
Flee like a bird to your mountain,
[2] for behold, the wicked bend the bow;
they have fitted their arrow to the string
to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart;
[3] if the foundations are destroyed,
what can the righteous do?
Up – Praise for how God has brought you refuge in himself
In- Pray for the Lord to give Faith Baptist renewed strength to stand against shaky foundation of the world and wisdom for discernment so we would build on the solid rock of Christ
Out – Pray for people in your life you have the “”bent bow” and that God would disarm them and bring them to peace with himself.
Prayer 2
[4] The LORD is in his holy temple;
the LORD’s throne is in heaven;
his eyes see, his eyelids test the children of man.
Up – Pray that God would teach us what it is to be his temple where Holy Spirit dwells and praise Him for that marvelous gift of his presence with us wherever we are
In – Pray for holiness in our church. Pray for the people of Faith to embrace the call to be a royal priest hood and that we would turn from the kingdoms and domains of this world to the Lord on his throne in heaven in all things.
Out- Pray we would be given renewed excitement for taking the Kingdom of God with us into our domains
Prayer 3
[5] The LORD tests the righteous,
but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.
[6] Let him rain coals on the wicked;
fire and sulfur and a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
[7] For the LORD is righteous;
he loves righteous deeds;
the upright shall behold his face. (ESV)
Up – Praise God for his good discipline and that he would teach us how to hear his voice and obey to his glory
In – Pray for Faith to do righteous deeds amongst our body. Pray for some of the specific needs of the church body.
Out – Pray for righteous deeds to be taken out of Faith and into our communities, that the people God calls us to serve and reach would see his glorious face through our faithful service to Him.
