Last Wednesday we picked back up with our monthly Wednesday night prayer meeting. We went back to the the riches of the Psalms and used Psalm 30 to guide out prayer together praying up, in, and out.
If you weren’t able to make it out that evening, use the scripture and the prayer guide below and pray right now where you are!
Prayer 1 –
30 I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up
and have not let my foes rejoice over me.
2 O Lord my God, I cried to you for help,
and you have healed me.
3 O Lord, you have brought up my soul from Sheol;
you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit.
4 Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints,
and give thanks to his holy name.
5 For his anger is but for a moment,
and his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may tarry for the night,
but joy comes with the morning.
Pray Up – and praise God and his holy name that he would rescue us from the pit to make us one of his saints.
Pray In – for the people of Faith who may be weeping and help us be a church who anticipates his joy coming with the morning.
Pray Out – for people in our community who are weeping and for people in the middle of tragedy and trials to turn to the one true living God and receive his favor in his reconciliation.
Prayer 2
6 As for me, I said in my prosperity,
“I shall never be moved.”
7 By your favor, O Lord,
you made my mountain stand strong;
you hid your face;
I was dismayed.
8 To you, O Lord, I cry,
and to the Lord I plead for mercy:
Pray Up – and cry out to him and plead for his mercies to never come to an end, for his mercies to be renewed in our lives today.
Pray In – for the church, that he would make our mountain stand strong and we would be a place of passionate praise and worship
Pray Out – that the riches of the Lord would be shared boldy to our friends and neighbors so they would see the true treasure of the favor of the Lord.
Prayer 3 –
9 “What profit is there in my death,
if I go down to the pit?
Will the dust praise you?
Will it tell of your faithfulness?
10 Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me!
O Lord, be my helper!”
11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
you have loosed my sackcloth
and clothed me with gladness,
12 that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
Pray Up – for a hear to be a people of praise so that he would not need to cause the rocks to cry out in his praise.
Pray In – for the people of Faith to have restoration in relationships, comfort in sickness, a heart to care and pray for one another.
Pray Out – that we may have a song of praise on our lips so that his glory would shine brightly in a dark world.
Pray for one another and for the needs that may not have been mentioned yet.
Father, we lift this time to you. Thank you for the gift of prayer that we get to participate in. May this time be used to build in us up in our faith and build up our vision of you and your glory. Help us to live as your disciples and may you open doors and soften hearts to see many more come to Christ.
