Community Group Notes For Psalms
Do you know how to sing through meeting God in His Word?
READ: Psalm 95
Get Going: What is rest?
Where do you find true Rest?
How do you get there?
Recap: We are getting closer to God’s people coming home. As with when the crowd senses the victory for their team is within reach, so God’s people as they are led by God’s King, know victory is within reach of God’s promises coming true, (it’s going to take King Jesus, living, dying, resurrecting and ascending), right thinking and praise is beginning to build.
Context: Psalm 95 is both an invitation as well as a warning from the past to know how to enter the rest of God. It is couched between a Psalm of comfort in 94 and a Psalm of adoration 96. It is practically leading God’s People, to acknowledge God as King, in order to sing God’s praise. Every long journey needs places to stop and rest, and this is one of them.
MAIN IDEA: Enter God’s Rest (Worship)
Transformational Intent: Entering God’s rest through worship of song, recognition, confession, and listening
“God’s King, leading God’s people, to sing God’s praises.” Tim Satler
