This past Wednesday we met for prayer and used Psalm 24 to guide our time together. We followed our usual pattern of reading the text and using the UP, IN, and OUT rhythm of the Christian life to focus our mind in prayer guided by our text.
If you weren’t able to join in last week, use the prayer guide below and take some time at home today to seek the Lord in prayer for your relationship with him, for the church to be a God glorifying community, and for the nations to hear and receive the Gospel.
Prayer 1 –
24 The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof,[a]
the world and those who dwell therein,
2 for he has founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the rivers.
Pray UP – praise and acknowledge God as the all powerful creator of all things and thank him for the love he shows to his children
Pray IN – Pray that we would be a people who are gather regularly and are united under the glory of this mighty God
Pray OUT – That we would leave this place with the the good news of this God, who owns the earth and the fullness thereof, on our lips so that those who dwell within would hear this and turn to Him.
Prayer 2 –
3 Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false
and does not swear deceitfully.
5 He will receive blessing from the Lord
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob.[b] Selah
Pray UP – ask the Lord to clean our hands and purify our hearts so that righteousness of Christ will cover us and grow us more like him
Pray IN – Pray that this church body would see the blessing from the Lord that is present in the Gospel and we would long to be a “holy place” where we get momentary glimpses of eternity.
Pray OUT – Pray for a new generation that will seek him in our city and for boldness to be his messengers to see our city transformed by the Gospel
Prayer 3 –
7 Lift up your heads, O gates!
And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
8 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord, strong and mighty,
the Lord, mighty in battle!
9 Lift up your heads, O gates!
And lift them up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory! Selah
Pray UP – that the King of glory would come into our hearts and minds and provide what we need to love him with all of heart, soul, mind, and strength.
Pray IN – for Faith to be a place that demonstrates the king of glory has come in and has made us his kingdom people
Pray OUT – That the kingdom of God would go forward in the world, that we would see his kingdom come and his will be done on earth as it is in heaven, in the lives of our neighbors but also in the lives of our leaders as well
Pray for the Büll family
Pray for the needs of the body of Christ at Faith,
